DittoBee
It was an honor to scan these amazing photographs.
It's an exciting day when rare historical images come through to be scanned. This week we had the honor of scanning photographs taken by the ship's photographer of the U.S.S. Wisconsin in 1945. The intimate details of this bold ship and it's crew were a sight to see!
The photos including scenes from Pearl Harbor, Japan, and more. Most of the photos meant business and war. Jets in formation. Canons being launched. However the best photographs were when the crew was given a break from the war. They were treated to a beer, some dancing and taste of regular life {however, usually still in uniform}.
I love seeing the history of our great country in such detail. Historical stock photos are easy to come by but the true intimate details are a great treasure.
Thank you to all those who have served and currently serve our great country. God bless America.
